You've lost faith in the ability of religious leaders to offer sound advice. Ask a Question

Strongly disagree, I never had that faith in them to begin with.

I guess I should have thought my answer through better. I guess it is hard to lose something that I never really had.

I was going to comment the same thing, never had any faith so did not lose it, as well as to add that being religious does not mean they cannot say something wise every now and then. Perhaps a a religious leader can give me some pretty sound advice on how to paint my walls...

I have heard old Pope B is a whiz with a brush!

Some religious leaders in the past have offered very sound advice. I read several books by Norman Vincent Peale and I only have praise for the man. I cannot say the same thing about Jimmy Swaggart, Oral Roberts, Jerry Falwell, and a host of others that seem to me to be much more patronizing than those with true intent to help their fellow man. I cannot ever remember hearing Norman Vincent Peale beg for money at the end of every sermon. I cannot say the same thing about ANY of the others I've mentioned. I never had ANY faith in them to offer sound advice.

Where are you Patriot and Kevin? Tell me why Norman Vincent Peale commands so much more respect than any of the others mentioned?

I believe Patriot is off some place patrolling the U.S Border with a shotgun, in a Pick Up Truck, and snarling at all those who meet him. I'm sure he's Gay!

Today's religious leaders have lost the right to lead.

My disagreement on the question of religious faith does not necessarily make a religious leaders advice unsound. My Critical Thinking professor was also a minister, and he gave excellent advice, based firmly in experience, common sense, kindness, and compassion.

Unfortunately, the ones who get the big media play are the haters and idiots.

Dam...that was almost simultaneous!

I think it depends on how connected to big business the religious leader is. I think there are probably alot of decent religious leaders out there who don't buy into the current line of bullpocky.

Religious leaders are worse than polititans!
