It's not like he told me he was something awful--say, a wife beater, child molester, pathological liar, thief, drug lord, faith healer, or politician, to name a few.
Good God, Mike. There's a lot of sensitive people that vote your comments down. I've never seen a -5 before. It's a good golf score, though. I usually just reply "Agree" and be done with it, but this points system seems kind of crazy. Don't stop offering your opinion as I enjoy reading them. Believe it or not, I agree with more of them than you think....
To me, this is like playing mental chess. You know, it's like when I asked in this forum and dauguy came back with that brilliant answer. Shut my arse up and I had no comment. But it was funny. Don't worry about the point system, my friend.
Pretty positive, except for the dying of AIDS part. That was devastating, not only to the gay community but to those of us who had strong ties into same. I work in a theatrical area, and have since about 1983, off and on.
Mike, the next time my wife and I drive to Austin to visit my sister, we're going to take a detour to Henderson, if invited. I will shake your hand and thank you for the service you have provided for MY country. We will knock down a few Lone Stars and just chat as I like your opinion. But, we can't talk politics as we're both too opinionated. Also, be forewarned that my wife is from Russia ;))

You are certainly welcome here. Don't drink beer any more (diabetes/High blood pressure), but will offer you and the wife a good cup of coffee. Why would you think that your wife being Russian is significant to me?

Yes. And then I rebuke him for his sinful choice, tell him I love him, and that I will do everything I can to help him change his decision to enter a destructive lifestyle.
As children grow, they experience...why would you not allow that? I guess the unconditionally is what I am not sure about, if he changes, should I follow unconditionally again (knowing that the choice he made at first was not conditional?).

Exactly. As long as he's happy then that's all that matters.
So if he were happy being a drug dealer---OK?
You're not born a drug dealer.
and that means??

Could be worse, he could be a liberal.
Ha ha
This is easy for me as I have no children. But I would NEVER rebuke my flesh & blood, regardless of the reason. Disappointed that you voted No.

Don't recall saying I'd rebuke him, but I do have trouble with the word "unconditional".

You say sensitive and I say cowardly. I am sensitive and I don't vote down the many idiotic comments I see.

without a son, how can you be so sure?? Without the gay son telling you this, how can any parent be so sure how they would react??
Uh, because he is MY son.

How have your experiences with gay men been?

a double whamo
C'mon, Mike. Everyone knows that there are 2 "M's" in whammo. The appropriate comment would've been checkmate ;)))
Cowards moderating my comments again, they were: "A double whamo"

Children often are a product of their environment. If a person can choose to be homosexual, then perhaps the parents are part in that decision.

i accept everyone for who they are not what they do with their life family is family no matter what
Rather simple stuff. ~Unfortunate that so many peeps seem to have issues with homosexuality. Tis quite boring really

And to guide and nurture them. We need not approve of or unconditionally accept a situation that can change after time.
