There was this guy "Onan" way back when who just got on God's bad side because he "spilled his seed" somewhere other than in the expected place. Until "spilling seed" in unexpected places is sanctioned by the Pope and other religious organizations (except Protestants, of course, that already hire lesbians as preachers) in my opinion it is pretty much out of the question.
I don't think the majority of voters would ever consider voting for a gay or lesbian. Would I? No. But my reason is because I think their emotional lives might interfere with their ability to do the job they were elected to do.

More importantly I think there are many other world governments that would not take their government seriously.

I would never vote for a homo for any office. Homos are not viable candidates. [Comment moderated down because waugs cried about it]

Sorry about that, sincerely. I never thought of that as an offensive word. Let me just say that I would never vote for a fag for any office. Fags are not viable candidates. [comment moderated down because waugs cried about it]

Fag, Gay, Lesbian it doesn't really matter. In Canada we have many elected who fit that description, and no one gives a rats ass as long as they do their job.
I have many gay customers in my business, most are referrals. They pay their bills and like my work. What more can a contractor ask for.
