Is the question asking if I'd do it for $5 million? If that is the question maybe so, especially since I would already be beyond menopause, and considering women live longer there's a second plus. The first, of course, is the five million bucks. Properly invested I think it would be enough to live on.
The question is about sexual orientation, not gender identity. That is to say, would you take a pill that would magically change you gay, if you were straight, or straight, if you were gay, given that you would receive that amount of money in exchange. Bisexuality is not included in the question, so it is limited to a certain set of the population. Hope that clears it up.
But seriously if I wanted the money, I would have no problem taking that magic pill, not because I want to change, but because I think that sexual preferences are not a big deal.
My main concern would be happiness. I am perfectly happy with my current sexual orientation, I suppose, though I do not know for sure, that I might be happy with a different orientation as well. But it would be a major change in my life, and I am not sure I would be eager to make such a change. Moneywise I am certainly not rich but I can live a decent life using only a small amount of money so I doubt if 5 million dollar would change my happiness level considerably. So the answer is no.

Thanks for clearing that up, the case of bisexuality would have been my question to you, but I understand you exclude that group.
Yes. And I only excluded them because I couldn't think of how to work them into the question :) They would seem to come out ahead either way!
Wouldn't the opposite be asexuality?
Yeah. That could be it. It's getting too complicated. hahaha!
I would take it twice KA-TCHING

Sure, it'd make life easier in several ways.
