It would depend on what the gain was, and how much axcting was required to fit in with the faithful, but under the right circumstances I may well go for it.
It is hard to think of a worthwhile example really ... I don't particularly want 2 or more wives, and even if i did it would be just as easy to live a secular polyamourus relationship, I don't think I could b/s my way to beign a paid priest ... maybe the Freemasons, that is supposed to be a good move if you have your own business, as they seem to take care of their own pretty well.
I would never, but maybe gaining a social advantage is the real reason why a lot of people go to church. It's not what you know, it's who you know, so let's not "forsake the assembling of ourselves together as is the habit of some."

Yes, I definately would. In fact I already have. I recently converted to evangelism from catholicism to gain a greater social status.
