Hey! I would shut up if I were you. America is the best country in the world, and it's going to stay that way for at least the near future. Universal Health Care is like socialism, next thing you know the government will say you can't have guns, you have to have a permit to move, etc.. It's just the beginnings of a long downward spiral.

Hmm. The choices boil down to:

Requiring by law that I have access to free healthcare, or

Requiring that I deal with companies whose bottom line is making the biggest from profit my illness. How to decide???

Funny part is ... my government gives me health care, and there isn't much difference from the American system, except its free lol

Absolutely not. I like choosing my doctor, and having access to emergency care when I need it. This is more of letting someone else be in charge of my life. No thanks.

No. I'm not living in the USSR.

Um....the USSR doesn't exist anymore...

I'm aware of that. I was comparing living under universal health care to living under a socialistic government

Universal health care refers to government mandated programs intended to ensure that all citizens, and sometimes permanent residents, of a governmental region have access to most types of health care. Patients may pay for some portion of their care directly, but most care is subsidized by taxpayers and/or by compulsory insurance.

No. I'm not going to live under that Kind of control. It's crazy! America (where I live) is a free country. We shouldn't be told that we have to have a government supplied healthcare. I'm an antifederalist all the way

If people absolutely need it, the US government provides them with health care. Otherwise, they pay for it on their own.

You wouldn't if you had appropriate health care. Plus there are numerous charities that assist people like that. I'm not saying the government should help the poorer people. I am saying the government should say EVERYONE has to have government supplied health care. If you can afford better health care, more power to you. Otherwise let the government, or even more preferably the private charities, help you.

What company?

The governments responsibility is not to give health insurance to its citizens. A governments responsibility is to protect its citizens from foreign and domestic threats. A disease doesn't count as a domestic threat. A pandemic would. Do you have any data that conclusively says our system bankrupts people? It's capitalism, and like it or not it's capitalism that is the best system (period) and has saved the rest of the free would time and again.

So capitalism bankrupts people. Yeah right. How about socialism, communism, fascism, monarchy, despotism, oligarchy, etc.. Capitalism is free enterprise, and given any other system it is under capitalism that a person is most likely to prosper. As a case in point consider North and South Korea. One capitalistic prospers, the other communistic does not. Besides your from Canada or course you have to say you like national health care.

Okay, people from countries that HAVE government universal health care should not be responding, folks. You're skewing the results.

Yes. Remember what goes around does come back around.
