It's amazing to me that people think this was McCain's choice. He wanted Lieberman. The Republican Party doesn't let the President run the country. It's a machine. They needed Palin to keep the Bible Belt vote. God, creationism, abortion are the issues that keep people in that camp. I'm sure the Chenys, Wolfowitzs and Roves will continue to pull the strings if they can steal the election.
