Think of all the tourist dollars England would loose if they did not have royal family, no changing of the guards, no royal weddings, silver jubilees etc to bring in 1000s of tourists and their$$
Gawdon Bennet! I think what if Britain wan' a Royal Homies then what is a bee's knees thing. The Monarchy is a tradishun in da United Kingdom. One what should be upheld. God Bless Liz an' 'ers. . OK?

They already have a 2-house Parliament corresponding to our bicameral Congress, and a Prime Minister . The Queen is not a chief executive, that would be the Prime Minister, as I understand it.
So, in order to answer the question, I need to know what would replace the Royal Family.
From Wikipedia, referring to the British Commonwealth: Unlike some of their continental European counterparts, the Monarch and her Governors-General in the Commonwealth Realms hold significant "reserve" or "prerogative" powers, to be wielded in times of extreme emergency or constitutional crises usually to uphold parliamentary government.

why would they need to be replaced, they have a government with a prime minister, the royal family has very little to do with political affairs these days, they are figure heads!!
Kind of my point. What would replace them, if any thing or anyone, if done away with? Who would get the emergency powers now held in reserve by the Queen? Without that information, the question cannot be accurately answered.
Personally, I started school in Canada and spent every morning singing "God Save the Queen." When I found that she worked as a mechanic in WWII, I was IMPRESSED. She actually had a real job! Elizabeth II has always acted with grace under pressure, and is completely worthy of respect. She may have made mistakes (who hasn't?), but that does not detract from her having done a very good job under difficult circumstances.
