It is an article of faith among militia types in this country.
Guilt by association?
What ever that is supposed to mean.
Militia types are a fan of the overwhelming force represented by US armed forces presence in over 800 other sovereign countries. They also believe, as did Mao, that "diplomacy proceeds out of the mouth of a gun." They are fans of being bad citizens, and think that anyone who doesn't agree with them sis fair game for killing--if not now, then later. Why would such types have any reaction except hatred for an organization that expects them, and their country, to behave in a civilized fashion towards others?
Good words... but do you think that the UN, as it stands, is sufficiently resourced and justly mandated to do the job?
Guilt by association means that you accuse all people that have a problem with the United Nations as having the same world view as radical American Militia groups. That's another example of your reprehensible demonizing and has no real connection to the people here. Clear enough?
No...the UN is corrupt, inefficient and ineffective.
When you let countries like Libya and Cuba chair the UN Human Rights councils you have to know the whole house of cards is a charade.
Not as long a the U.S. is a superpower.
The U.N. operating budget is just over 2 billion dollars (or about 1/3 of a percent of the U.S. military budget) -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations#Funding
Thanks for that info...quite startling. A very glaring stat when you think of the supposed UN mandate. Do YOU think that that US money could be better spent within UN backing or do you think that other Nations need to have more input AND pull their weight?
