I can't believe they're so bold as to PUBLICLY admit what they're trying to do. I don't know if it's arrogance or stupidity. I suspect it's the former and but fear it's the latter. Maybe a combination of both that can be labeled a "Republicanism."

Can't blame this one on the Republican's. Pelosi brought this on herself. She is the one leading the charge to prosecute anyone that knew about the interrogation techniques. First she was informed, then she wasn't. Then she calls the CIA is a bunch of liars.
Arrogant and stupid? Yeah, she was arrogant and stupid. Now she is squirming. I'm sure she thought the press would give her a pass. I think it's hilarious that the Liberal media are the ones hounding her now.
I take it you didn't even bother to watch translate's clip from youtube? It won't kill you. It's Fox News clips where the Republicans are discussing WHY they're going after Pelosi. They point blank ADMIT its because they're trying to get her to "back off" on the investigation. Never seen anything like it. It's one thing to PLAY hardball like that - but a whole different thing to ADMIT that's what you're doing. Arrogance and stupidity wrapped into one big ball of bullshit.

I don't need to watch the video clip. I watch Fox news and have seen the Republicans talk about Pelosi. They have wanted her to back off for months. What you call arrogance, I call Honesty. Your right, we don't get much of that out of Washington. I also think it was smart on their part. Pelosi is not handling this whole situation very well and now she's in the spotlight. I've seen plenty of polls that suggest the majority of Americans would also like to see the issue dropped. That is exactly what I would like to see.
Pelosi's mistake was assuming the Bush hating crowd and the liberal media would accept her at her word and not question whether or not she knew anything. I see that as arrogance on her part. Now accusing the CIA of breaking the law by misleading and lying to Congress. That was Stupid.
Pelosi said it perfectly. She said this is just a diversion so everyone forgets that the real issue is torture. Perfect. Also this is a typical trick by the republicans to shift blame.

Welcome to the "moderate down the liberal game"! April and a couple of the other conservatives go out of their way to moderate down any and all those they perceive as "liberal" automatically on sight no matter their comment. You're part of a large and growing group (you're the latest addition, I believe) - Sheep, Dauguy, BEC, Odessa, Ask, Translate, me ... (lolol). When one of the others come through they'll moderate you back up again. Likely that no one came through after you were marked down. This is my question, so I got your question. I clicked you back up to where you show on the board, but do remember that you do NOT completely disappear. Everyone always clicks "see comment" and looks at what you said anyway. There's been quite a few times I've already had to click you back up from -1 and 0. (lol) No biggie. There are quite a few members in here I'll automatically click up knowing the "moderate down" brigade will come through in a few minutes to click them down. It's kinda funny, really! (lolol)
Politics. Lin is perceived as a "liberal" on the site by the conservative members (even though she's still quite new), and they moderate down any comment they perceive as "liberal." We other "liberals" come through and moderate them back up again. It's part of the fun of the site! (lolol)
