I've already been in touch with my congress critters and voiced my displeasure. It seems that others are doing the same and the numbers are increasing daily. I hope you are too.

I did during the Bush years, but it took voting the rat-bastards out to restore balance.

You call the present administration balanced? There is so much infighting in this administration that it is a wonder that anything gets accomplished. By the way WiseOne, I like your picture.

I like the picture too. "Choice" is a wonderful thing. :)

Thanks, bobalee.

It serves as a reminder that we should all learn from our past mistakes. :-)

Unlikely.

Not in the USA where the citizenry is expected to knuckle under to authority even if they protest vehemently on their own property, when not even the President of the United States can chide such authorities for acting stupidly without being trounced upon by multitudes of die-hard tea baggers who love having to respect every authority figure that brandishes a shiny badge in their presence.

...and the other half who don't really want freedom, but government control of everything, to the extent that they defend unprecedented deficit spending on pork-barrel projects rebranded as "economic stimulus".

Not so sure on this point. The Interstate highways in my state have been in a terrible state of disrepair for several years. Nobody wanted to allocate any money to fix them. With the economic stimulus monies, however, not only are hundreds of people now employed our highways -- all across the state -- are finally getting the repairs they have needed for so long. Empirical evidence speaks for itself. :)

Sure, some of the projects are worthy. There is as much, if not more, empirical evidence of waste on luxuries and mismanagement of funds. Just because 1% of the budget was obviously well spent doesn't mean the other 99% is.

Yes. I'm on GradeGov.com once a day to grade my pol (or someone else's) and keep his/her inbox, fax machine and voicemail busy every week. Does it help? Maybe not, but maybe hundreds or thousands of others are doing the same thing and I'm in hopes that my weasel(s) will take heed that their actions/inactions are being noted.
