I think it may be possible ... we are seeing the build up towards it. First it was the European Union and African Union. It's only a matter of time before we start seeing a North American and South American Union ... then it won't be too long afterwards before we start seeing the amalgamation to a World Body Government.
I feel as though we already have one - the United Nations. However, currently it is pretty ineffectual. Sooner or later, though, it'll become more powerful, whether the UN or whatever replaces it.
