I would say most definately people are not driven by desire for money, or at least i like to hope so!
I think a main driving force in peoples life is ability to discover things and understand things - this is certainly what drives me and the job i eventually want to get will mean a major downwards jump in pay - but i do not care.
It will be a bright future if more people realise that there is more to life than financial gain, if fact being educated to understand or develop the wolrd around us is far more rewarding (for the 'soul' if you like) than things that money could buy.
