She is just too busy reading all the newspapers and watching Russia from her back yard. Good for Alaska.
I'm having a hard time believing that she would do this if she was seriously considering a run in 2012. This gives her potential opponents a ton of ammunition to use on her. And I mean other GOP primary contenders, it doesn't even need to be Democrats. Romney's crew has already started.
This is the whole basis for the experience argument they tried to lob at Obama, and she's handing it to her opponents. This is worse because this is "executive" experience, remember? "She's abandoning Alaska." "She can't even run a state of 700,000 people, it was too much for her, how could she possibly be president?" All that and much more, I'm sure.
I mean, she's an idiot, but she's not really that much of an idiot, is she?
The fact that this is out of left field, so sudden, and dumped on a Friday holiday weekend news dead zone, with that rattled incoherent speech she gave... Something's up. There is more to this. I hope I'm wrong - I WANT her to run! But I don't see how she has a chance now.
If I am reading this right, she would have had a tougher fight on her reelection than she did the first time round. She may not have wanted the appearance that Alaskans were losing confidence in her in a presidential race. (Her poll numbers have gone from 80% approval rating to 55% in just a couple of years).
If that's the case, she could have announced she wasn't seeking re-election and still completed her term. I don't see how quitting with a year and a half left to serve does her any good at all.
I don't either, to tell the truth.
I think she has agreed to take on the role of Republican attack dog. One of the Republican problems when dealing with Democrats is that Republicans are portrayed as the party of NO whenever we disagree. The thinking may be to defuse that by making Palin the lightning rod. I know that she is not afraid of anyone.

She really thinks she has a chance in 2012. I blame John McCain for all of this. Palin was perfectly happy in AK, and McCain drew her out thinking she would help him win. I don't like Palin at all, but I dislike McCain more. He screwed he up bigtime.
She did it to herself, because she had the choice and could have said NO to McCain. I believe, she was not aware of what she would get into when she agreed. Even though as a politician she should have known. And no, I don't like her either.
She's not pregnant again, ...is she? XD
Why should that stop her? It didn't affect her last time...

She might want to disappear from politics for ever, because it became too much for her. And by 2012 who will remember her? ;)
Has anyone considered she might be ill?

Why did she resign? To be with her Wasilla hillbillies.
