Why do you think people are asking the question about whether the Nobel Peace Prize went to the right person? Ask a Question

You forgot option 4 : "The Right is questioning the choice because they would question God Almighty if He appeared and endorsed Obama."

Especially if it was evident God recognized he is black. ;)

Evenso I never wish for all bigots to die. All my relatives would be gone. :-)

Sometimes America owes the world an apology... such as when the world condemned Bush for attacking Iraq when no proof of weapons of mass destruction could be found.

=O

It's probably Aaron, the owner of the site.

Relax Man.

Neat, I didn't know you can ask questions anonymously.

Can if you are an administrator.

Hey BEC44,

We could probably find a way to do that, but "Anonymous" is what accounts are changed to when someone deletes their account. All their questions flip over to "Anonymous"

You can't, Aaron can.

Read up on the information at the bottom of the page.

Hey Aussie, actually I can't either! "Anonymous" is what accounts are changed to when someone deletes their account.

Ah ! Thanks.

Hi Aaron. Is "the world" voting anymore? Being that this question only got 29 votes is why I was wondering.

Hey Chipmonk, yep the world is still voting. (I don't remember the algorithm offhand but it's possible we don't give as much emphasis to Anonymous questions.)

Sure you can or your name is not "translate" and mine isn't "chipmonk." ;)

Because they cant think of any more potty (poddy) training questions?????

Be nice, the police are notified about some comments.

I don't understand why people in the USA are questioning the Nobel Prize award to President Obama.

It is because of his beliefs and passion for peace. He spoke about his hope for the future of the world in his many, many speeches leading up to the election.

Why aren't they proud of him ?

I'm proud of him ! I think it is fantastic !

There is a big gap between having ideas, andideals for that matter, and having them come to fruition.

The award is premature.

Compare what he has achieved (not spoken about) with previous winners.

Lets hope he does great things, but so far it is mainly talk.

I think there is something to be said for the change in tone and overall approach to international affairs that he has brought about. Perhaps, on its own, it doesn't appear to be significant, but when viewed in contrast with the previous administrations policies abroad, I think it's certainly noteworthy and commendable.

Some of us are. As for the rest, see my answer above

You can't give someone a NPP for having policies!

I might have a policy to see world peace in my lifetime, but unless I go out and actually contribute to making that happen, I would not expect any recognition for my happy thoughts :))

Now President Obama may well deserve a NPP in time, if he achieves some of those policies, but not yet.

It is said the path to hell is paved with good intentions.

Let's give him a chance to see what he can do.

You don't give an athelete a gold medal for turning up at the starting line.

Plus, now they have done that, what do they give him if he actually does something? NPP and bar?

NPP with swords, diamonds and oak leaves?

Lets face it, the Nobel Peace Prize is not the glorious award that we imagine it is. Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Joseph Stalin were all nominees for the award at one time or another. Yasser Arafat received the same award in 1994. Its odd that someone that made a living out of terrorism and a flat refusal of all peace offers would receive such an award and its just as odd that the other three people would have even been nominated.

I am not equating President Obama to the likes of Yasser Arafat. I do question the motives behind the Nobel Peace Prize though.

Well said.

Good points.

I'd guess that Hitler and Mussolini nominated each other and Stalin nominated himself :)

Awesome. "The Nobel Peace Prize sucks because it was given to someone I don't like!"

So we add that to the Olympics... can't wait to see what other previously-good stuff conservatives are going to start hating because Obama got associated with it.

I don't think you could be any more transparent if you tried. And I know you're trying.

Not to mention what a shitty move it is to attempt to disparage the Prize by association with who has been nominated for it in the past. Like they have any control over that.
