If you have a look at "youtube" you'll find quite a lot of sessions in the Australian Parliament, where the politicians are behaving badly, wasting time talking over each other and not giving us good value for our money.
Because it has become too much a competitive sport, where winners win too much and losers lose too much, instead of everybody benefiting from the process.
Absolutely! More specifically instead of a game score its their jobs. Yet its us that put them there. Sooooo this is a disconnection going on somewheres.... if our polictical leaders are swayed by opinion of who elects them, are responsive to their needs etc., I'd like to see a score card made by a third party pollster (audited by additional consultants) how each member of our Senate and Congress vote against the majority of who they represent.. bring to light who matches the closest and who is never even close... spread that out across the bills being voted on, and give us a summary. It'll be like giving a polygraph to a criminal, not entirely accurate but very revealing..
For the same reason kids hate math. They don't understand it, and can't see how such knowledge is valuable.
