Sara Palin didn't even know what the job entailed...she favors creationism being taught in public schools, is a poor comparison to Hillary Clinton when it comes to "Women's Issues"...(pro life, for example), and is being proposed as the first in line for the presidency should something happen to the Oldest candidate for President ever. If John McCain's jugement wasn't in question before, it certainly should be now. Not to mention she was chosen of all other female contenders, who all have more legitimacy and certainly have done more to deserve such a nomination than she has, and her nomination is patronizing to women everywhere as an iconic surface grab choice.
The main job of the VP is to preside over the US Senate. VP casts the tie breaking vote, and also participates in cabinet, and advising to the President. The VP is also first in line to take over the Presidency should the President become unable to perform his duties. The VP also does a fair amount of PR and pomp around the country...
Thank you, and for that, this woman that doesn't know what to do, is going to be paid---The salary of the vice president is currently (for 2008) $221,100. With her credentials, it doesn't say much for the importance to McCain in having a person able to be the leader of the most powerful nation in the world, does it?
Exactly! Thus the reason I didn't include names. I wanted to see how many people would just pick a pretty face above any kind of qualifications for the job: a small town mayor? second place in a beauty pageant? a forte in the area of salmon fishing (maybe something in common with Cheney, ya think?)? etc.
People trying to strategize a campaign need to know what they're up against.
Obama's team may not be thinking about this with as much deliberation as Waugs. They may be thinking no competition here so no sweat, but it's been a long time since people have gone as far as people like Waugs have gone to educate themselves both on the people running as well as the issues. For this reason we need to be asking polls that will help emphasize what Barrack is up against and what needs to be done.
Sometimes the more subtle your questions are the more information you can glean. Get people talking about the kinds of things people aren't asking them. Make them feel like telling you was their idea. :)

Six hours after this poll went global I wondered why newcomer Palin got so many votes from people in other countries, then it occurred to me, maybe some thought it was a picture of Hillary? I don't see how, but maybe if they hadn't read a newspaper, watched TV, or gotten online during the last two weeks.
In addition, in this particular Biden photo, he has almost assumed a very Bush-like pose which may have contributed to the votes for faux Hillary, ...ya think? o.)

This is very interesting. Just hours ago, a poll asking who people would vote for vastly favored obama, yet when we just look at the VP's ... a virtual tie... I wonder why. why is that folks? are you just saying you like the vp better but you will still vote differently?
People have been saying the Mooooozlim/Hussein smears are going to backfire and make people think much less of McCain. If you really believe this then don't you think MILF/GILF, second place in beauty contest smears will backfire and make people think less of Barrack?

I'm short, cute, have four legs; my isn't Alvin and when I sing I don't sound like a tape recording played back at a faster speed (although *that* would be an improvement). :)

All joking aside, what does a VP do all day every day??

No, in fact it makes me question his judgement more than ever before.
I agree completely

And call people.
"Come to the Dark Side, Barak!" (qooeeqok) "I am your cousin!"
I wonder how many people say she's their favorite because of how absurd her nomination is. Or her MILFdom.....sexism, wins!
I think they're just voting for the woman across Eurasia. (lol)
