Before the finals I was thinking Mya will win because she is the best dancer, Kelly will come in second because she is the most endearing, and Donnie will come in last because his fan base is the smallest. Evenso, I didn't really care who won so that is why I didn't vote on the last night of voting. Everyone knows DWTS is just a huge popularity contest and the person who is the best dancer often gets the shaft because voters don't put dancing ability first. This is the reason Mario lost to Emmett Smith despite the fact Mario was a much better dancer. This being so is probably why Donnie won. He was a huge star in the 1960's and 1970's and it seems now he must still have a huge fan base, a much bigger fan base than many people thought (although I do disagree with many disgruntled Twitterers, I really doubt the entire state of Utah voted for Donnie like they were tweeting last night and this morning). There are probably many who watched the show who never listened to a radio station that played Lady Marmalade, and there are probably even more that never watched the Osbournes reality TV show. I guess that is why Donnie won and the others didn't. It will be that way in every DWTS to come if the TV audience continues to put popularity ahead of dancing ability.
