You know - I think maybe you have a problem with realizing that the countries labeled as 'filled with nothing but terrorists' by the Bush Propaganda Machine is filled with HUMAN BEINGS! And MAYBE - JUST MAYBE - some of those human beings care about their fellow man and DON'T think terrorism is a good thing. Sweet Jesus JonMarc - congratulations. That's is the single STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard you say!

No. That's NOT what it is. You're talking about a guy who's 19, has very limited English and is DESPERATELY trying to communicate his thoughts and feelings to people in the west. He doesn't like the Iranian administration, is afraid Iran is going to end up at war with the US, does NOT want to die at age 19 in a war that he had no control over, didn't start, and doesn't want. Look at the differences of opinion that you and I have - and we're both American. Do you find it so unbelievable that someone in Iran could dislike Ahmadinejad as much as I dislike Bush?? Or do you believe ALL Iranians must be as unquestionably loyal to their Ahmadinejad as you are to your Bush? The repetitive comments are due to the attempts to re-communicate the same idea utilizing limited language skills. THESE are the innocents - the causalities of war. And there are a LOT more of them then you seem to realize. Without the internet, we would never hear ANY of their voices. And here, we have but one. And rather than listening to it, you accuse the voice of lying rather than simply being what it is - a human being trying to reach out across thousands of miles, through cultures and languages, desperately trying to communicate with people whom he KNOWS are good people which, dammit, we are. Right now your comments make you look like the exception.

I've only seen one other Iranian in here - he's a bit more angry with the US than this one. My guess is very few Iranians have the confidence to try to reach out like this one has, and I'll also gamble that the Iranian powers that be would stop in an visit this kid if they ever picked up on any of his posts. I'd try reaching from this end, but I don't have ANY schooling in Farsi, and I don't have the courage to try. I often wonder at people who think the way you do, if you are so full of fear and hate that you lash out at everyone, or if you've had a couple of bad experiences when trusting and now view everyone not only with suspicion, but with vicious condemnation. What a sad world you must live in.

And sorry, I don't ever gamble with money. I'll send you a couple of pretzel sticks.

I don't take it as a repeated comment looking for a 'new slant' reply at all. I've seen that done quite a few times, but this guy? Not even close. What he is is a 19-year-old boy who's watching Iranian news every single night with threats of a US invasion/bombing looming large. And I'm sure the Iranian government is playing it up, trying to rally the people against the US. He KNOWS that his government is not a good one. He WANTS us to know that HE, and OTHER Iranians are not pleased with what Ahmadinejad is doing. He repeats it often because he's trying to get the message out to as many people as he can - and this is, possibly, one of the few ways he can do it where he feels comfortable and feels he's not only heard, but understood. He knows he's speaking to a predominately American crowd. Can you, for one single moment, place yourself in his shoes? Did you read the comment that said something to the affect of: "please tell mr. bush that I don't want to die in a war. I'm only 19"? Now, THIS is not the place to draw serious attention to your cause, if that's what he's doing. If he were HONESTLY sitting in Philadelphia and working to undermine our government by gaining sympathy for himself (and Iran, by default), he'd be posting on the comment boards at the New York Times, the LA Times, the Washington Post. He wouldn't be on Ask500, apologizing again and again for the mistakes that Iran is making, and declaring absolute disgust and hatred of his government. The fact that you would so willingly believe that he is misleading everyone when his reaching out is to such a SMALL and incredibly UNIMPORTANT group of people on a tiny, virtually unknown website based in Canada goes a long way to proving to me he is what he says he is. If he were blogging on the big sites ... then I'd consider what you're saying as a possible truth. But not here.

I'm more likely to believe he's in Iran than you are in Guam.

I second the motion!!

hey thanks man!to let Jonmarc know i will tell any one that i am Iranian and i live in iran and i am Muslim and I am Shiee !

i Hate Mr ahmadinejad so much!

Don't care what you believe but just for your info, I am not in Guam. Used to live there but not anymore.

you only have him because of the mullahs. bush and the international community could have stopped them from disqualifying all the reform candidates in your election, but... how could we have an excuse to attack if you have reformers in charge?

i donno what to say! i don't want any other country to attack my country and destroy every thing and kill my friends and i. so i don't want Mr Bush comes here to fix any thing because if he could fix somthing he would do it for USA!

we had 8 years of war defending our country against Saddam Hossein!it had enough problems for us! we should work on the culture of iranian people not to be cheated by some creature like Ahamdinejad!

Seeing as how McCain keeps co-opting Obama's policies, it's pretty clear Obama has the right ideas.

We've just gone through 8 years of stupid. that wasn't so good for the world. as for who is smarter, Obama was the youngest president of the Harvard Law Review, and he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law. Somebody smart like that can quickly work to solve the nation's problems.

Mccain, in contrast, graduated 894th of 899 in his class, and only because his father was going to be the commander of us forces in europe, did they let him through. he wrecked five us navy aircraft, four in accidents. he's a flub. he'd be an embarrassment to this country and the world.

He's really good at arguing, though. I heard him twist a question about health care into an attack on his time as a POW. Amazing.

You heard he wants the VA to concentrate its resources on care for combat-injuries now? Yeah, vets, if your illness or condition is not combat related, under President McCain it's back-of-the-line for you.

Oops! Looks like SOMEbody is already accepting healthy donations from the health care industry.

We didn't go through 8 years of stupid...we went through 8 years of very, very smart...they succeeded, after all, in their goals of sequestering the wealth for the very few, did they not?

yes. that is also true. but although brilliant at finding themselves a nice executive suite in the world, if the whole thing sinks, they're gone too. so in the end. stupid.

I agree. They don't really think it is going to happen to them, and therefore they don't care.

Some of you seem to think that smarter equals "taking the right decisions". Perhaps that is true in this case, but I do not see a logical connection between those. Some smartnes might be a prerequisite to understand something is the best thing. But smart can also mean you know how to cling to your power in a totalitarian state or how to manipulate. It is not necessarily a good thing.

That is a valid observation, and certainly is true of George Bush.

But at this point in the electoral race, from my point of view anyway - the indication of smarts would be the person who is doing the most effective things toward reaching the goal of being elected president. They have to obtain the power first.

Yo - that is why they pick and have an "administration" so experts can guide him if he is not proficient in a subject.
