Sounds like the responsibility of the UN. Shame they don't seem up to it. The African Union seem unable to handle this issue, due to the rather small undertakings of most richer nations. Other than that the EU might be well placed, not much will there either. All rather depressing really. The UN were supposed to stop genocide. May be memories are not long enough?
You can bet your bippy if the USA were to intervene that the USA would be labeled as an aggressive nation seeking to extend its colonial powers over the poor and downtrodden and would be reprimanded by the United Nations, Canada, Iran, Libya, China, Cuba and a few others.

Maybe not. There are still many who don't hold with idiot anti-Americanism. The current controllers will be gone soon and I hope the true strong libertarian colours of the US will shine through again. P.S. That's the longest sentence I have seen for some time
Wasn't it Blair who said something similar to "The U.S. is blamed for the worlds problems and it tells them it's up to them to sort them out. Then the world worries when the Americans go and sort them out." I can't remember if it was him exactly, but I thought it was fitting considering Mike's comment and your reply. For once, I have to agree with Mike on this.
I haven't heard that quote before, so I don't imagine it to be Blair. But you are right. The chap in charge will always get hammered no matter what. We need the US and the US needs the rest of the world. Sooner rather than later we need a better understanding
