I've always had friends. Friends make the difference. Did you see the recent Survivor when Todd discussed the strategy of the game. Like is like that. If you know who to surround yourself with you can make it anywhere.
I think the difference between then and now is that then we played with our friends after school and stayed out as late as our parents would let us. Nowadays most of the young people I know go home and play video games if they're boys, or hang out on MySpace if they're girls.
