Here is my first experience at a Popeyes restaurant, and it is not pretty:
My girlfriend and her parents wanted some Popeye's Chicken and I had never even heard of it, much less been there. So I took some cash and their orders, went to the Popeyes which was across the street from the local KFC.
While the odors coming from the Popeyes were pretty appetizing, I discovered that all of their chicken is super-spicy, so that resolved me getting KFC for myself, but filling my girlfriend's and her parent's orders at Popeyes.
When I went in, the place was crowded, as it was lunch time and apparently this Popeyes place is pretty popular in the Chicago suburbs.
As I stood in line, I saw that there were about ten people working in the kitchen, and not one of them was wearing gloves for food sanitation, nor were they using the tongs meant for serving the chicken. They were using their bare hands to scoop up popcorn chicken, tenders, and make sandwiches.
What is worse: several of the men in back were teens with their pants hanging low around their hips, with NO SIGN OF UNDERWEAR! To make matters worse, it was so hot back there in the kitchen that most of the ten people were sweating like crazy, dripping sweat on the food, the containers, and wiping the sweat away with their hands, then using that same hand to grab the chicken with.
I was so disgusted that I called my girlfriend on my cell and told her I was not going to get them food from this place. Her dad, apparently, did not care and wanted his Popeyes Chicken, so I got his order, then went to the KFC across the street.
The KFC was a picture of sanitation and like a shining, sparkling diamond compared to the nasty food-poisoning Popeyes across the street. I got my order and my girlfriend's order and went home to eat.
Never again will I visit a Popeye's Chicken restaurant. I do not encourage anyone to ever eat there. This was my very first and very last time ever at one of those disgusting places.
Suffice it to say, my girlfriend's dad was sick for a week after that, and I did not have to say a thing to him. He, too, has never had Popeye's chicken again.
Priya. They do a Kashmiri chicken that is to die for, and the Chicken Dopiaza is incredible.
Remember that little Mexican grilled chicken place in Vallejo? I miss it horribly.
OMG, YESH!!

And they have added two more locations since we lived there.

Too bad it still tastes like toilet.
I like it for a fast food place.
