To do such a thing would be to display an intent to deceive.
Yes, but sometimes that's a reasonable intent. For example, there are certain forums, MMOs, chatrooms where it's just easier to be a guy than a girl. And if you've got an unusual name, making up a new one makes you a lot harder to facebook.
As far as I am concerned ... most personal information (outside of business transactions), are NOBODY'S business .... IF .... the person does NOT want it made public.
