Do you intend to imply that women were too dumb to invent shoes for themselves? I would bet that women were better at making clothes, particularly for children.

The interval is too short for any meaningful evolutionary change to have taken place. And, btw, it seems probable that women and pre-women were mainly responsible for the developement of language.

They were pretty good at the job, which is why mankind lasted the course and we are blessed with the sanctimonious and priggish Translate. In spite of this unfortunate consequence I still think we should be grateful to our remote grandmothers.
Women were obsessed with "fire". Everyone was, and women needed it to be able to cook and set up a kitchen : )
