Keep religion out of Politics. Most politicians are far enough out of touch with reality as it is!
That's a tough one. It was a long, slow, steady but not too sharp downhill slide, then Watergate kinda pushed them over the precipice, then the Christian right captured them and held their heads under the river.

Yet that same media is pretty much exclusively owned by conservatives...

[1 point] 233 days ago by deleted user ReplyWhy would extremely conservative right-wing pillars like Rupert Murdoch and the Mohn family allow a leftist slant in their media? As a leftist (not this slightly-right-of-center they call liberal in this country) I can tell you that NO media (including, emphatically, PBS) has a leftist slant in the United States. The Pacifica Group approaches it sometimes, though.

[1 point] 233 days ago by deleted user ReplyFunny, I grew up in a military family, so have always been VERY conscious of my accent. It is the first crucial step to blending in in a new home.

Are you seriously telling me that multi millionaire businessmen like Rupert Murdoch don't have a hand in what their companies are producing?

It’s unfortunate, but very few political agendas are 100% morally motivated and scandal-free. It would, however, be a huge generalization to say that of everyone involved in politics.
I listen to WLS and WBBM all the time on internet radio. Sometimes I think it's even worse than you mentioned. It's hard to believe that there are still so many criminals in the Chicago, Cook county and state governments.

The Republican Party's goal is to perpetuate war and put the aristocrats on an even higher pedestal. The main way this is achieved is by taking advantage of the uneducated ignorant masses usually affiliated with the Christian religion and by flaunting a deceptive message that claims that they have the virtue of Christ on their side. This is directly contradicted by actual actions and goals like the Republican Party's infamous war-mongering.
Also, of your attacks upon the Democratic Party: anything done by a Democrat does not begin to compare to the grandiose fuck-up that is the modern Republican Party. It sounds to me, with the way you're describing it, Chicago itself is prone to corruption and this has nothing to do with the national Democratic Party. Perhaps Chicago's citizens are aware that the Republicans are more capable of screwing up on a much larger scale than the Democrats that your city continues to elect.
WOW!!
...I second that!
I really like this comment better--Good point. Dems and Reps both cannot be righteous with this topic. There is corruption everywhere. It isn’t limited to one political party, or even contained within politics exclusively. All professions, all organizations and businesses are vulnerable.
