Why is it that I hear about Republicans who have spoken out against this bailout, but I don't hear about any Democrats doing this? Are these Republicans just not "McCain's people"?

A deal in principle for a $700-billion bailout of U.S. financial markets ran into trouble tonight after House Republicans objected to the plan and said they hadn’t been included in negotiations.

But after the White House meeting, the top Republican on the committee, Richard Shelby, told reporters: "I don't believe we have an agreement."

He pointed to a letter from leading economists saying the Paulson plan was a "bad plan" and that alternatives should be looked at.

McCain and the House Republicans are undercutting the Paulson plan, talking about a wholly different approach,” Frank said prior to the meeting. And this was very much the line of attack at the White House: “This is the presidential campaign of John McCain undermining what Hank Paulson tells us is essential for the country.”

Negotiations on a $700 billion proposal to inject new capital into the paralyzed credit markets stalled after House Republicans offered a different solution to the financial crisis.

As Republican presidential nominee John McCain looked on, House Republican Leader John Boehner raised concerns that the plan would be too costly to taxpayers, and offered an alternative plan.

Democrats were mad.

How was it devoid of facts? That is links to several major news organizations and they only seem to mention any republican opposition.

He would have ignored it anyway, since it's such a solid argument against his "Republican's are the devil" philosophy. To be fair though, he may have responded like this:

thats cause they are just holding out for aplan that makes them even more money. bush is the worst president ever and mcsame is no better. they just want to steal all the money and opposing the initial plan is just a way to get an even bigger plan.

They just want to postpone the buzzsaw. When Obama is finished with that old blinking gasbag, it will be like a slasher movie. Start up the chainsaw. Look for the neo-nazis to start up the smoke & mirrors campaign. Wait for the terror alert to go up, the boogeyman is coming. BTW, the boogeyman has been president of the US for the past 8 years. God damn the Bushie man!!!

Either McCain or Palin will be hilarious to watch. I expect a first round knockout.
