The computer at work has optical wireless, my home one has an optical with wire, and I use the keyboard by preference whenever possible (using Excel, Word, etc.) but not when playing games.
Optical wireless here but there are times when all the rechargeable batteries are in use and I have to get out the old roller ball mouse. All my notebooks have touchpads but I only use the touchpads in emergencies, like while I'm looking for the roller ball mouse.
I use the keyboard as often as I can but have an optical mouse
I use an optical mouse and a Wacom tablet/pen
Optical. I really hated cleaning those squirmy mouse balls.
But I'm sure the mouse loved it.
