Dutch comedian: "We invented an IQ quiz in which people had to guess if they had a low- or a high IQ. If they had it right, obviously they have a high IQ."
True. IQ tests measure analytical skills and were originally designed to correlate as much as possible with educational succes. Intelligence is however hard to measure and can't be poured into a 1-dimensional figure.

I am unsure but is 120 about average? I think I am a little over the line but do you think people are really going to be truthful? At present - over 30% of people are voting >140. My IQ is telling me this is most probably b.s.
By definition 100 is the average IQ. Many people have a bias in the perception of their own IQ. I wanted to see if this bias became clear here. What we can't know is how much the fact that ask500 attracts a certain kind of people influences the result. Maybe we can think of a way to discriminate between overestimation and sample bias?

I read a good book about the 7 different kinds of intelligence. The ability to score high on IQ tests is only one measure of IQ. Find your talents.

I'm not proud of it. It hasn't gotten me anywhere. Maybe it has even gotten in my way. Well, not the IQ really, just the fact that I know what it is.
