none of them...i think 16 or 17 would be better!
There is none--just depends how much the parents want to baby them.
5th option: "When they can afford one on their own."
I agree- unless a kid is doing an awful lot of things away from home or going dangerous places (and it's a very good question why you're letting them do that!), they can get a phone when they can afford one. I'm 16 and can't afford a phone, so I'm not getting one until I can afford one. Same with a car.
let's not start the brain cancer treatments at too early an age, ok?
