Really? Not for any price? Someone bid $5.7 million on eBay a few years back (before eBay had to close down the auction, given that it's illegal in the US). Hypothetically, if that person walked up to you with a briefcase -- OK, suitcase, maybe -- with $5.7 million in cash, you wouldn't even consider it?

I assume you mean only blood relation--a stranger could marry into the family, would they be covered as a relative?

I have kinda had my eye on your sister and I was just wondering if I could count on you. :)

There are a lot of folks out there (people you never have or never will meet) for whom any of us would be a biological match. I teach, and this question is part of a discussion that my students engage in regarding the overwhelming shortage of organs in the US -- tens of thousands of people are on a waiting list for a donation.

I am sure of that as I have known some but I guess I am not a really good person because it would have to be someone very special in my life before I would give up an organ.

If it would save a life 0 dollars.

Yeah the dollar isn't really worth much now anyway.

For family or a friend I'd give it to them for free. But if it wasnt illegal to sell and I was in desperate need of money I'd definitely sell one for a price.

This is a really interesting point -- would those desperate for money be the most likely to sell a kidney?

No, there is no amount high enough.

One adult kidney in good condition. Blood group: A+, Haplotype: A1-B8-BR3, non-smoker, moderate/low alcohol consumption. Good shape, low mileage $1.5m obo email: kjmorley@buymykidney.com

I'd donate my organs / blood only to vegetarians / vegans. I don't care about the money - if I'll do it, I'll do it for the reasons I think are right (and for the right people). I know one that might need my 'spare' parts (kidney) in the future... Talking of kidneys - my mom has three (not joking) - two are conjoined and one is a loner. Her doctors were very surprised when they found that out (it's kind of a rarity). Maybe I inherited too much kidneys from her and have a sixpack of them :)?
