Man - my power just came back on after being out for nearly 36 hours. Was suffering withdrawal. Thought about showing up at your house. Then I realized I didn't know your name or where you lived ... (lmao!)
Lucky me spent a whopping two hours this afternoon in West Chester at another friend's house to charge my cell phone and drink coffee. Snuck into her 'puter for 1/2 hour or so. Email? Website orders? No ... had to get HERE! (omg... lol)

I was wondering about you--I heard that 200,000 people down your way were out of power, my brother in Troy is still out, you could have come here and we would lick some stamps, next time just get to Piqua and look me up in the phone book--BEC44, LOL. Did you loose food in the freezer?
OH - I've been to Piqua. A bunch of times. There's not much there. Good for business. (lol)
Been to Troy a bunch, too. Damn near got creamed trying to drive around that statue in the middle of the cross street. It's probably one of only three or four roundabouts in the US, isn't it? Never did understand how those worked. (sigh)
There were nearly 700k in the metro without at the worst of it. And lucky me didn't have much of anything in the fridge or freezer. My friends make fun of me. Say I have a "guy's refrigerator." A carton of eggs, some cheese, a couple of beers, butter and a two liter. The freezer holds the empty ice trays. (lol)
But I had a LOT of neighbors upset. Saturday is the big grocery shopping day for most. Power went out just as they closed the door on a couple hundred in goods.
Is your bro back on yet?
Had to edit to add: the locals really surprised me. In '99 when we had the tornado and so many people were without power, the "please treat all lighted intersections as a four-way-stop" thing lasted for about two hours. This time - 36 hours later, and even through rush hour - they were still doing it. If people got confused, other drivers would wave them into the intersections when it was their turn.

Bro got power back this AM. You are right about Piqua, nothing but bars, fast food places, and churches, no place to work for real money.
Troys circle is a dandy to get used to and they do have their share of accidents there.
I bet the people just got their food and then the power went out were UPSET.
They are still dealing with a lot of traffic lights out in Troy and Dayton, no street lights makes it more hazardous, I agree about the people being more courteous at the four way stops, even with like 3 lanes each way on all four sides.
We Buckeyes are good when the chips come down ... (lol)
I've been wondering if that has something to do with people thinking of others - being more polite and caring these days. Less of the "me first" attitude. Not sure, but it's seemed like it lately.
I just did a Zabasearch on BEC44. It says you live in Springboro!
