What do you think (out of the following) will be mankinds greatest achievement? Ask a Question

Stop exploiting animals for food (meat, egg and milk industry), fur, leather, fun (bull-fights, circuses...), medical purposes (vivisection, in vivo testing...)... And that human animals would stop being cruel to non human animals. The fact that we communicate with each other and aren't able to uderstand the communication between other animals species doesn't give us right to kill / eat / torture / exploit etc. them.

Yeah I guess you're right except the food part, I can say the same about plants, and if we stop using both for food we wold starve, but I totally agree with you when it comes to the fur and leather industry and the circus and other forms of entertainment as well. If it was up to me I'd ban zoos as well.

the options are a bit short sighted, i mean 'mankinds greatest achievment'. How about achieving enlightnment for everyone? how about leaving physical bodies behind and living as a pure energy being? probably take a few million years but if we are going for greatest ever then lets let our imagination go crazy......

if taken in the order 2,1,3 as described by playded321, than all the options would at one point be mankind's greatest achievement, and yours might be mankind's grates achievement of all kind.

At this point I see the moon landings as mankind's greatest achievement. Also the construction of the pyramid at Giza was at the time mankind's greatest achievement. I think it depends on the time you're living in.

If, and I think it really is an if rather than a when, we can evolve to a level when we have true tolerance for all mankind, when the worlds resources are equally shared by all, when all science is done for the benefit not destruction of men and the planet.

Then I would say we were on the right track to our greatest achievement.

Looking at what we have already achieved in our divided, competative, often spiteful world,

just imagine the wonders we could do if we all worked together for common cause. No cheating, backstabbing, trying to out do or screw each other.

Let it be, someday!

that reminds me of John Lennon's Imagine

I take that as a complement :)

As long as I don't remind anyone of some Gangsta (c)Rap merchant, I'll be happy :))

our greatest achievement will be to convert every single atom in existence into part of our singularity. not to say that's a "great" thing to do but size-wise, if we keep going, all matter will be thinking, eventually, until the energy runs out.
