I'd love to go there someday! It really is beautiful!
Well, next Summer I'm hoping to go visit a friend in Illinois ( and one in Tennessee and one in Pennsylvania - long ass road trip lol), but my dream dream holiday would be Peru, I'd love that.
so... what about machu pichu? and the old mountain roads? :)
Hell yeah...one day I have promised myself I'm going there! And the Nazca plains to see the giant pictograms, to me that's a place that is endlessly fascinating and beautiful.
germany! lol
Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia, France
Britian? Are you Serious? What is so Appealling about Britian and Ireland?
Open your eyes!
Four years ago I went to Britain for the first time. I was only the second person in my family to set foot in the streets of London since the Great Fire. And setting foot on and looking around at Ireland - I'll be only the second person in my family to walk that earth since the famine. The history of it, the culture, the beauty of the land. You don't feel it's anything special because your family has probably walked that earth since the dawn of time, but I look at it differently. I appreciate the land, the culture, the history and the people. To hear the lilt in the voices, to see the smiles of people I know are my distant cousins. My original ancestors who came to the US were married in a tiny church in the shadow of Westminster Cathedral. It was bombed during WWII, the ruins sold to St. Louis. Going to the church in St. Louis was nice, but the land it stood on is now a small garden, the fact that it was destroyed memorialized with a small plaque. Standing on the very earth meant far more than looking at the walls of the church in America.
As for France - I'll be the first person in my family to have walked that soil since St. Bartholomew's.
Thailand
Alaska!
Mount Maunganui, New Zealand.
A beautiful, safe, uncrowded surf beach. And a decent library that lets visitors use it for those days when it rains
Jamaica is my current favourite, lovely island, very friendly people, and some very liberated adult resorts :))
Croatia
I've always wanted to see India and Egypt.
China!
Must asmit, I have no desire to visit an Islamic country. I am by no means an alcoholic, but I enjoy a few beers or a little scotch, or some wine with a good meal. The thought of not being able to do that, when there are so many other places where I can puts me right off. It is nice to have the choice at least.
japan and south east asia
Bulgaria is cool (Black sea).
Or Georgia is adventure now.
How do you get to Bulgaria or Georgia from Slovakia? Fly? Or drive?
I thought there was too much civil disturbance going on to make even that short of a distance unsafe by motor vehicle? Is there less civil disturbance in your part of the world than Americans imagine?
