well...though I am from Sydney...I had a few Indian friends who told me that most of them dont loose virginity unless they get married because they sort of take it as dignity and preserve it for their partners!!!
If you are male it not dignity to have sex before marriage just because it doesn't remain any sign of sex and then you deny the fact. It is cheating on your future partner.
Totally it depends on person.that's whether he/she cares about the virginity or not.
