It is a statement and a question.
It doesn't mean ikatae believes it !
You can read stats to your liking on everything if you look long enough.
you got a reference for that?

If everything about a guy was fine with me, he just had a gun for security and safety, I would be okay with it. I have a strict rule about not being alone with a guy (dates in public places, no 'talking' in parked cars, etc), so he's not going to get much of a chance to shoot me even if he wanted to. :)
Well, I'm happily married, but I'll play along...
I would never date a guy who owned a gun. Period.
I don't care what stats there are out there.
I hate the idea of owning guns. If he's the kind of person to own a gun, we aren't going to get along anyway.
Does that include antique firearms and family heirlooms? I own a gun that's probably worth half as much as your house. And if any person thinks that I should be rid of it because they don't 'approve' - tells me that person has too many control issues to ever be a solid thinking, reasonable partner.
You could have a Deringer in you garter. All the smart ladies had one.
tee hee!
Hey - somebody's fixing me up with an Aussie this weekend. He's in the states for a few months on business. Think I should go, or are blokes blokes the world over??
Take all the usual precautions, public place, check he hasn't removed the wedding ring, check his body odour, has he got bad breath, where does he live in Aust., what type of business is he in.
You might have to act a bit dull, they like to think they are intelligent and masculine.
I hope he is nice.
No. Of course not. Antiques and heirlooms do not count. I'm a genealogy lover, so anything pertaining to remembering history is okay by me, even if it's something I'd generally disapprove of.
You need to go to this link. There are two articles here, I chose them because they tend to address a women's concerns about guns. I can find many more if you are interested in the truth about owning guns, all thru a women's eyes.

.
That article has some excellent reasons to own one. As long as the person using the gun has the fortitude to shoot it and shoot to kill, I'm all for it. Warning to women (or anyone else): don't point it unless you intend to use it...otherwise all you are doing is giving them a weapon they can take from you and use on you.
Why is owning a gun so bad? If an evil man (or woman, I have to be PC) came into your house to do you harm and he had a gun, wouldn't you like to be able to defend yourself? Your family?
I hear this argument all the time, but gun violence and break-ins are so rare in my area that the idea of someone breaking into my home with a gun is implausible. If someone were to break in, they'd most likely have a knife (if a weapon at all) and my short baseball bat will do quite nicely.
Yes. My thoughts exactly.
Your flag tells me you have been brain-washed properly by your government.
It is better to have a gun and not need one then to need a gun and not have one - but your gov doesn't see it that way.
People who object to weapons aren't abolishing violence, they're begging for rule by brute force, when the biggest, strongest animals among men were always automatically 'right.' Guns ended that, and social democracy is a hollow farce without an armed populace to make it work. ~~ L. Neil Smith
The freedom to own and carry the weapon of your choice is a natural, fundamental, and inalienable human, individual, civil, and Constitutional right -- subject neither to the democratic process nor to arguments grounded in social utility. ~~ L. Neil Smith

Jonmarc, you don't know a thing about me and your quotes aren't fitting. I choose not to own a gun now because I don't need one. I don't even lock my doors unless I'm going away for an extended period.
Just because I choose not to own a gun doesn't mean I object to weapons. If someone enters my home without my permission, my choice is to bash the fucker's skull in. A gun in the dark is of no use to me.
and frankly, trying to suggest that my country makes my decisions for me is insulting.
How many pistols can you own?
Ok, this conversation has wandered so far from the point it's ridiculous, but I'll humor your question.
I have a restricted license and have had range membership for many years, so I can own just about any handgun.
I'm not anti-gun. I just don't have the need for one. Crime is low here. I have never felt unsafe in my community.
I would never date a man with a gun! :-')

How would you know (until it was too late) he owned a gun if he tried to hide it because his intentions were bad? Anyway over here in the Netherlands very few peope own guns so it is a bit theoretical, a guy/girl owning a gun certainly had something to explain to me.
I wouldn't date a guy WITHOUT a gun either!
