Before there was Dirty Harry, there was The Rifleman walking down the main street after 12-13 shots and the sneer that he is one not to be crossed. Loved it as a kid and sometimes watch it now. Grew tired of his son and his "Paw, Paw"! in my adulthood :-)
Didn't it turn out that, like Rock Hudson, Chuck Connors was gay? I'm not criticizing him, just enjoying the irony of a homophobic population watching a gay icon of manliness.
Sorry, can't find any evidence of him being gay, not that it matters to me. Don't know about your "homophobic population" either, as this certainly does not apply to me...
I know i heard that he was, but don't know if it was true--which is why I phrased it as a question.
I know you are not, thought, if it IS true, you might enjoy the irony.
Do you have any evidence to support that speculation? He was married three times... which doesn't by itself mean you are wrong, but I've seen no evidence that you are correct.

OMG, The Twilight Zone brought to the screen some of the best short stories of the Golden Age! And did a lot mediocre shows written by Serling, but that's the price you pay.
I'm far too young to remember these!
