But I would argue with the likes of Pop Idol, American Idol, X Factor (you name you reality TV show) they are producing more and more artists to fail.
They explode quickly but they are dead within a year or two as the next competition winner is pushed.
This is not always the case but I think those that survive are in a minority
I think so. Not every artist is "lost to the price of celebrity" but some defenetly are.
