You might enjoy New Zealand, they have more sheep than people and no snakes.
Interesting that no water snakes ever evolved into land snakes in New Zealand.
I know a few people who do both very well. And one who has to do what he does in order to teach what he's doing.

Let me counter with another aphorism:
The best way to learn something it to teach it to someone else.
So I would guess by the second year, a teacher could do, too.

What a teaches DOES is teach. Some do that very well (and some don't).
