Are you aware of the walk-outs that happened 3 years ago? at the time when a congressmen proposed a bill to deport all illegal immigrants

The spirit of dissent has died out in my opinion.

Speaking as a forestry activist for half a decade, i can tell you that activism is alive and well. Reporting on activism, however, is nearly extinct.

I've wondered the same thing - there seems to be much less passion in the US. People are still very passionate in France - they are always protesting something. I have asked my adult children - they seem to think that it's because people are too comfortable now with their SUV's and big screen TV's.
