Certainly no religion more organized than animism. It is not the individual belief, but the co=option of belief by entrenched power structures that makes it dangerous.

There would just be something else out there trying to control the masses with appeals to morality for the supporters, brain-numbing guilt for their critics and violent retribution for their opponents.

"The grass is always greener on the other side" and "Stick with the devil you know; the one you don't might be worse" pop into my head when I see questions like that.

"It is better to travel through life with a structured belief system than to travel through life with a haphazard approach to ones self." You can quote me on that. That actually came from my head and not my lower back-side.

You said that you have a Medical Office Admin Job. That's a two year Technical school to learn how to pull and replace files and place colored stickers on them. The rest of the time you use the office computer to make incredible comments on Ask500.

Not much. I accept that I have made one little grammar mistake, as noted by the next comment, but then its been a long time since I have felt like writing and I am out of practice. I thank you for providing me with the impetus to do so again. Much of what I stated in other comments are well-founded.

Mr. Educated Hockey Sticks

It is "You're right". I would think anyone with basic English skills would know this. Sorry, you've proved me wrong again, Jonapril.

Look every man even if he does not admit it looks for a sense of belonging and fulfillment. Evan you don't subscribe to the idea of an organized religion you have to see that. Religion is the fulfillment for a lot of people. Those that don't follow a main line religion have some thing that gives them that feeling of belonging and fulfillment. Work, School, social clubs, drinking until they pass out. you name it and its probably someones form of religion.

Unless you asking would the world be better if there were know Christians, Muslims, Jews etc.

Then you would be asking a different question.
