The upcoming health care reform will... Ask a Question

The problem is everyone is in too big of a hurry to get "something" done, rather than to do it right. The other problem is neither side is listening to the other side’s concerns and issues, so no one is trying to come up with something everyone (or most everyone) could agree with.

All the Dems hear is that the Reps are totally against health care reform; which isn't true. And all the Reps hear is that the only thing the Dems want is government controlled health care; which isn't true.

Both sides need to slow down, and listen to each other. I think most everyone would agree that reform of some kind is needed. We just disagree on what kind of reform and the details.

Obama has said he wants something on his desk to sing this year. That's in a "hurry". Just because it has been something you have wanted to do, but have not been actively working on doesn't mean you get to say you are not in a hurry now.

I also didn't say that reform had equal importance for both parties. It is clearly more important for the Dems. But just because it isn't an important driving issue that the GOP is pushing, doesn't mean they are against it either. Now they are and certainly have been against what the Dems have been proposing as their version of heath care reform.

And you think the GOP is against all health care reform. But that brings me back to want I was saying about neither side actually listening to the other.

The cost alone for the U.S. health care "system" serves as a powerful argument to the rest of us why we should NEVER accept for profit health care. Keep up the good work;)
