Nah, not even close. The US could have blown the region, and the world, into oblivion several times over.

I had this poll up, worded slightly different a few minutes ago, then pulled it.

I agree with you whole heartedly. Part of the reason the Republicans said we must "win" in Iraq is because we would be perceived as weak if we didn't. The terrorists call us cowards who can't stomach the fight. I think the vast majority of Americans know this is total BS - but I'm interested to see what the world poll shows.

Interestingly enough - the reason I decided to reword the poll this way was because my last one said: "The US showed the world all of its military strength during the invasion of Iraq." UL - VL. And a majority of the US votes were coming back Likely and Very Likely. Now - we didn't even come CLOSE! (lol) And since the majority of Americans seemed to think so - I'm trying this wording to see how it plays out.

Ah - the new mystery. Now that april is gone, who'd doing the "automatically moderate down the liberal" campaign? I've caught livlett a time or two, and joyce is bad for it. Or do you think April was having a last hurrah? I don't think it was april.

WiseOne made an appearance today.

Uh oh. Is he an auto-moderator, too? Dammit. I asked him point blank once - he said no. I believed him.

As well they should be.

That's the difference between a "war" and a "let's make the defense contractors rich" game. You don't putz around when it's really a war.

Did you take a look at what the world opinion was? One vote from Pakistan said "very likely," all votes from India were "likely" to "very likely." Somehow that makes me smile. It's always a good thing to have your enemies under estimate your ability. Over estimate can be good for some reasons, but they SO don't begin to understand what we're about. And that makes me smile.

True, but the US will never use all the potential it has available, they blow a building and worry about a civilian a block away--until they get less worried about saving fish and enemy civilians I think we used just about all we could--not had.

lol. Only during "military actions" that are put together to make defense contractors rich. If it's war - then it's war. "Sorry 'bout your luck folks - it's you or us - and we pick us."

not even close هi think the us have been betrayed by shiaa in Iraq. or it could be a lot easier for the us.

I think you are right. But I know if I lived in a country that was invaded by ANY military, no matter the reason - I'd be angry as hell.
