You are talking about the generation that has been told since birth that they can depend on no one but themselves--not for jobs, not for necessities, not for anything.
Oh, the spoiled little rich kids, who have the most public faces, THEY think they are entitled--but the well-to-do=always have, They think it a matter of genetics.
Perhaps it's my exposure to society, but I find more and more people outright demanding things they're not entitled to, and [if] denied, they do nothing but basically throw a temper tantrum about it.
The trend I've witnessed seems to be people younger than I, so I put the 'next' generation, perhaps the term is too relative.
That is because a lot of parents make the mistake of thinking; "I want them to have it better than I had it", and are giving them eveything and not teaching them any discipline or responsibility. One of the reasons the welfare rolls are high.
The last batch of children in the US at least have basically been coddled. No winners, No losers. Everybody gets a medal/trophy. Of course they feel entitled, they have never been told they aren't smart, or good at something, because it might damage their self-esteem.
LOL. I just don't come on much. But some jackass dredged up some comment I made 150 days ago about Israel and tried to bash me. So I stalked out his comments.
Some guy, I think today was his first day. It's like people find the site, and then search out anything critical of islam/palestine and start trying to reply to stuff.
Most likely it wasn't a new member. Was probably jonmarc with a new identity who wished to provoke an argument without bringing his history to it. New members don't know how to dig back through polls and comments like that. Takes awhile to get your bearings in here. I watched him do it quite a few times. He's deleted his jonmarc account (although I suspect he's just changing member names) and april's officially gone. Apologized for her mouth, attitude and everything horrible she'd ever said.

Did you write this before your first cup of coffee or after your first highball or two?
"Woe be unto the world when it is given into the trust of our children" - written on a wall in Pompeii.
Every generation thinks the next generation is like, totally bogus, dude.
Most people born since, oh, say, 1945 do. It really started with the Baby Boomers and has gotten geometrically worse since.

Now where the hell have YOU been??

who did that? Is he/she still around?

Wow, everything horrible she had ever said, that's a lot of stuff. That was one weird girl, clearly raised in one of those overbearing church familes.
JonMarc had some points, but he harped on some stuff too much. You just have to let some things go.
I'm part of the "next generation", and I don't have a "falsely inflated sense of entitlement".
