You might as well be asking who do I like more. Answering is not especially easy because neither one is on my top ten list of favorite people; however, I like David Letterman more than I like Sarah Palin, so I'll have to answer Palin this time. You betcha! :)

Although I have been an outspoken critic of Palin, I've never been a huge fan of Letterman. And although I believe Palin's behavior has been over-the-top reactionary, I don't really care for Letterman's behavior, either.
This poll is as a result of your comment that I bashed Palin too much. I was curious if I was wrong about the support she receives, and if my belief about her being rejected by main stream Americans is correct. I live in an extremely conservative area - if she's not well liked here - then I take that as a snap shot of average Americans.
I tried to make the poll as neutral as possible, going to far as to list Letterman first to make any "click the first thing I see" errors land against Letterman rather than Palin.

Letterman comes off as a jerk. He married the mother of his out of wedlock child when his child was 5 and he dares to make out of wedlock jokes? How come he skates, when Imus had to apologize and quit? How is it better that Letterman dissed a Palin daughter? The daughter at the game was 14, and Letterman tries to say he was talking about an 18 yr. old, like that would have been good. I think Letterman looks very pathetic in this whole ordeal and he also is a phoney.
You want to compare Letterman's joke about a notorious womanizer chasing after a 18-year-old who (obviously) puts out to Imus' "joke" calling the woman's national championship winning basketball team being a "bunch of nappy-headed hos"?
You guys have gotten REALLY good at distorting reality because there is a BIG difference between those two "jokes."
And to be honest - after I saw the footage at the baseball game, I thought that was the older daughter. The younger one sure has grown up in the last six months. The two looked a LOT alike to me. But then, I don't pay much attention to kids. I couldn't even tell you Obama's daughters' names or their ages.

It doesn't matter which daughter he was talking about. He should not be making jokes about anyones kids. What is really disturbing is the fact that you seem to be OK with this.
If he'd made the joke about the 14-year-old, I would have a problem with it.
But the joke was made about an 18-year-old woman who placed HERSELF in the public eye. Her mother put her in the public eye to begin with - but then BRISTOL started stumping about the country to preach about teen pregnancy. Once she does that (no matter who's idea it was, SHE is the one who was doing interviews on the matter) then she has made HERSELF a public figure in her own right.
Public figures are public figures - and public figures get comments made about them. Period. End of story. It's one thing to call an underage child "ugly" but making comments about underage drinking and underage pregnancy (both issues of poor parental supervision as far as I'm concerned) - then the press has a right to comment on their bad behavior.
And the difference between Letterman's bastard child and Bristol's bastard child is that LETTERMAN was going to spend his OWN money to keep his child off welfare. Bristol and her boyfriend? Their PARENTS are the only reason she's not receiving WIC right now.
He did apologize and she won't accept it. That is her problem. Wish she would quit her constant lying. She lies about everything. Is this the person the reps want to be the leader of their party. Never happen. Now I just hope Letterman doesn't say anything else about it. It will go away like all stupid stories.
She lies about everything. She is accusing Letterman of attacking her 14 year old daughter. She lied about Obama being a Muslim and a terrorist. How could you forget? She has said many hateful things about Obama. She is just a nasty person. I would also like her to go quietly away, but looks like that isn't going to happen.
