Umm... yeah... and the Democractic congress was in control for the past 8 years, right MikeHend? Oh... what's that you say? Only for the past 2 years. Sorry... my bad. Oh no wait... that would be YOUR bad for being disingenuous, wouldn't it.
Please spare us your biased editorial again. We've all seen it, and only rabid right wing reactionaries buy your "version" of history that John McCain and George Bush were financial geniuses who saw this coming and did everything possible to head it off at the past. In point of fact, I can point you to a sound clip of John (Keating 5) McCain saying he never met a deregulation he didn't like.

Yeah, yean... that's it. the government screwed it up. All those banks and corporations that took advantage of tax loopholes and lack of government oversight are innocent lambs being led to the slaughter. Why how could we even THINK about putting more regulations on them now that we've given them billions of our dollars. What WERE you thinking giraffe? ;o)
This is what happens when you have ideological incompetents running the country. They do foolish things, like fighting wars we don't need to (Iraq), not finishing a war we must (Afghanistan), not having the intelligence to foresee what might happen to oil prices in a world where China and India consume too, spending millions of dollars on trucks and ice that end up being thrown away (Katrina), buying trailers for displaced people that can't be used because they cause sickness (Katrina), doesn't spend the necessary money on reinforcing levies to avoid disaster (Katrina), has a ideology of "less regulation" such that banks and mortgage firms run wild with greed and excess, taking the country and the world down by ignighting the worst economic crisis since the great depression, and oh, don't forget the parting failure of what is soon to be the largest food recall (peanut products) in the history of the country.
Only a fool believes government has little to do with what happens to the economy. It's actions, inactions, policies and regulations (or lack thereof) have everything to do with outcomes.

I think it funny that they try and blame Clinton. EIGHT YEARS!! What, was Bush's administration so incompetent they couldn't stop this disaster with EIGHT YEARS of hard work? Gimme a break!
What's even crazier is this is the same "unitary executive" who took the position that he the power to do as he wished. He had complete and total control over all that government agencies did under the "unitary executive theory," he is the same guy who went crazy with executive orders, and is the same person who had more signing statements - effectively nullifying Congressional acts - than any other President in history. But, noooooooo. Bill Clinton did it.
yeah, because despite his civil-liberty-destroying Patriot Act, he was, at the end, too incompetent to follow through with the Big Brother thing. Just like he was too incompetent to prevent economic melt-down while stealing the planet for his oil buddies.
You can post this for every day until the end of time, which being an idiot you will probably do, but it does not change the fact of my statement. Please see CDog's statement above mine as it applies to this drivel you continually post.
Who is in the President's office has a lot less to do with the economy than the big spending, bleeding heart, socialists in the Democratic congress.

That's right, government screwed it up from the beginning and you want to give them more power in the form of regulations. Make Sense? No No No

[-1 points] 3 years ago by deleted user ReplyAs long as people think he was such a great guy who did great things, it is only a matter of time until the NEXT senseless war and depression.
What they won't say is that thanks to Bush they are able to continue to write their anti-Bush crap on this forum. Ungrateful assholes.

"The evil that men do lives after them."
It's like a broken record with you. So sad.
I agree. Those that forget history, tend to repeat it. We must never forget. NEVER!
