They didn't vote "to allow the bonuses" - and you know it. It was twisted up legal wording and too many of them rely on other people to read and tell them what's in the legislation.

You damn well know that if it had said "these companies can use this money to give themselves great big bonuses if they want to ..." SOMEbody would have caught it and pointed it out. As much as I dislike lawyers, I think we need more of them in the Senate so they can read the damn crap written by the other lawyers.

Democrat, Chris Dodd, changed the content of a bill passed to limit these bonuses. He fixed it so that it would apply at a later date. AIG money then went directly to him and other dems in congress. There's no confusion. These guys are busted.
