I truly believe it is the concern of the Australian government and the people. I would trust their opinion as I do not know the situation and it has very little effect on me.
No. Putting a little girl at the forefront of their campaign to pull on the heart strings of Australian people makes it all the more pathetic.
In a world where they know no peace, how are they expected to come to this land and create it.
It is sad what is happening in their homeland, but is it not their Government who is responsible for them, why should it be that our Government who has enough difficulty dealing with our own current population be having to deal with immigrants from other countries trying to illegally migrate here.
I am not a racist by a long shot, but sometimes a stop has to be made, otherwise let the flood gates open to Australia becoming one big refugee camp.
We are only a young nation though. It is okay to say we are a small country in relation to our size but we only have a colonised history that dates just over 200 years, whereas England and other nations have histories that date back thousands of years
If we unnaturally increase our numbers we will not be properly resourced to handle these numbers and everyone will suffer. Although we have a large land, a lot of it is inhabitable because of poor conditions.

Australia gains one international immigrant every 1 minute and 53 seconds. Somewhat more than 3000 people a year.
Since the other week when it was declared we had an official population of 22 million people we have already increased by almost 20 thousand people.
Many years ago when the post war migrants entered Australia they genuinely came here for a better life. They wanted peace and harmony and they came here to give their families peace. Granted, there are still those same types of immigrants who come to Australia but there are also the MANY that come and bring their cultural tensions here as well. As with the Sydney riots a few years back, as with the African cultural fights erupting every day of the week that just don't get noticed by the media.
Let us not forget, the media controls what they want to show us about our great country.
Is the problem that they don't have a criminal conviction? I thought that was no longer a requirement? Just kidding, I can not tell you who you should or should let in, but in the case of refuge's, I would not be able to send them back, not knowing if they would be safe.
Exactly. The sad thing is that most of the issues that arise in society in Australia come from refugees. This is not something that many people are made aware of but the most Police issues arise from first generation immigrants to Australia.
I don't know where they will live, most of them are on Christmas Island in a detention centre (jail) while they are processed. Most don't have any documents or identification of any kind, they could be murderers.
We have a housing problem, we need another 100,000 more houses, there is a water shortage, crops are failing, unemployment. Most of Australia is desert.

It is not customary to live in a house in Australia, there are in fact an overwhelming amount of Australian people living here who do not receive help from our Governments and are in fact homeless. So instead of helping the people who are fighting the wars of our streets, you think we should help fight the wars of the countries thousands of miles away. We need to assist our own backyard before we go handing out the help card to every single person that cries to the Australian media.
I was speaking in relation to the "post war" entrants into our country that you addressed.
The African fights information has come from a high positioned police officer who I am acquainted with and who informs me that the main issue currently surrounding our city, regardless of what the media tell us, is the Africans and their terrorising natures.
When the post war migrants came to this country, they went about it the right way, sitting exams and passing tests and gaining legal consent to enter, rather than shipping everyone they knew onto one small boat coming here illegally and then crying to our media as if it is our problem.

I don't mind because Australia has many cultures in it.
But if we let this lot in another lot will come and etc...
