The (9) terrorits arrested in India are being interrogated expeditiously,(tortured), does this bother you? Why or why not? Ask a Question

No for both reasons.

It has already been demonstrably proven that torture does not accomplish the end of saving more lives. Torture simply makes the tortured person say whatever he/she thinks their torturers want to hear. Consider John McCain who named the starting lineup, defensive line of the Green Bay Packers as his squadron mates.

No the Germans obtained accurate info from captured resistance members in Europe during WWII. The "torture does not work argument" is just wishful thinking.

And yourconsequentialist (i.e., the end justifies the means) argument is morally reprehensible. But let's look at it from another perspective.

Look again. My comment is neither pro- nor anti-torture. It is intended to be factual.

"The 'torture does not work argument' is just wishful thinking," was intended as a factual comment neither pro nor anti torture? A statement like "just wishful thinking" is what you call "factual?" ;o)
