A valid choice for the terminally ill suffering chronic pain. Rarely, but sometimes it can be a blessing for the person and all who love him or her.

Good point.

What a slippery slope! Coercian may come into play, but if you feel you would like to go on to your next life, then suicide is a viable option.

You're being tortured by the Gestapo. You know you're going to crack and betray your comrades - and then you'll be killed. Suicide would be unselfish and entirely honourable.

I suspect under this scenario that the Gestapo would give no such option.

You're right (well, in a well-run Gestapo). but the scenario offers one situation when suicide is an appropriate option.
