I think its a good thing that not all people feel like that. I will admit that I have no real desire to explore space but I am glad that there are people that do.
I think this is the excuse people always use when people think they should be making decisions for you. It's crap. I would no sooner deny someone climbing Mount Everest than smoking a dooby.

There are things that can be done by machines, but ultimately, you need to send people sometime.
